Who doesn't love a quick, healthy, hearty breakfast?? Anyone? I didn't think so. Now i've always loved oatmeal, but felt like it was missing something. Always felt like I had to add something on the side to fulfill the meal, until now. I got this idea from reading a blog that I've recently subscribe to called Real Fit Mama. She has an adorable blog that focuses on many of my interests: Health, fitness, vegetarian, and gluten free. So the other day I ran across her blog featuring Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Oats and there it was: Oatmeal mixed with Peanut Butter and topped with Banana slices...OMG! Where has this been all my life? These are some of my favorite elements...I grew up on Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwiches..and here it was. What an amazing combination: the Peanut Butter gives the Oats this amazing creamy quality, bumps up the protein therefore increasing satiety and adding the bananas not only increases the nutritional value but adds their own natural sweetness=Divine. This is a quick, filling, yummy way to start off your morning, especially during these winter months!
GFCF Peanut Butter Oatmeal and Bananas (1 serving)
1 Serving Bob's Red Mill Quick Cook Oats~ cooked according to package directions
1 Tb. Gluten Free Peanut Butter (I love Smart Balance)
Sprinkling of brown sugar and cinnamon (optional)
1/2 Banana
Now as i've mentioned before Bob's Red Mill gets their oats from fields that are "oats only" to ensure their gluten free quality and they are premium. "Bob" has a variety of gluten free oats available: Quick Cooking, Rolled Oats, and Steel Cut Oats so you've got a few to choose from.So I say enjoy and thanks so much to Real Fit Mama and Bob's Red Mill for making my mornings delightful again!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the props! I have been eating oatmeal with nut butters forever (not sure where I saw it first though) and it is yummy. Great way to get protein and it's super filling. Glad you like it too. :)

ReplyDeleteBird, this looks tasty, but recently my daughter was diagnosed with peanut allergy, so maybe try with almond butter?
